Speeduino Firmware 202402.1

Speeduino Firmware update 202402.1, Including Haltech CAN BUS Broadcast.

I have now found a work around for the Haltech ic7 dash if anyone wants to run one on the standard 500k can bus speed using the Haltech can bus protocol.

This is the first fixes release (FP1) for the LTS 202402 firmware version. As with previous fix pack releases, this contains no new features but resolves a number of issues that have been found inline with the intended Long Term Support of the 202402 release.

The specific fixes in this release are:

  • VVT angle readings (and therefore closed loop VVT control) were not working when:
    1. The Poll secondary method was used or
    2. Neither the fuel or ignition were set to sequential
  • Using a 2-stroke engine with the Basic Distributor decoder resulted in an incorrect RPM reading
  • The Flex fuel boost adjustment was being added multiple times to the boost target
  • The tacho sweep function was not functioning due to a regression
  • The stepper idle control was operating at half the commanded step value during cranking (Not during running)
  • Prevent a potential oscillation of the fuel pump output when the engine comes to a stop
  • The TPS reading over OBD2 and CAN broadcasts was incorrectly scaled

As there are no new features or other major changes included in this release, it is strongly recommended for all users of the 202402 firmware to upgrade to this version. No ini file changes for Tuner Studio.

  1. Downloading the firmware from the firmware loader results in the 202402.01-1Mbit.ini file data consisting only of “404: Not Found”. Is this expected?

The firmware loader also indicates when starting a new project to “Load the new ini file, Speeduino.ini in this download directory.” but no speeduino.ini file was saved to downloads by the firmware loader. Can you confirm if the firmware loader is supposed to download this file automatically, or if I need to find it on github? Is this a different file specific to the STMPro ecu and different than the speeduino ini’s posted by Josh?

    1. Hi, Sorry I was just uploading all the files a the time you must have been trying it. Should be good to go now.

      1. Thanks, the 2024.1-1Mbit.ini files now appears populated when downloaded. Is this the file I direct TunerStudio to when setting up a new project? I am confused why the the firmwareinstall.pdf says the file is named “speeduino.ini” if this is the case.

TurnerStudio is not connecting to the STMPro after the firmware update. Jumper has been removed, device appears as “USB Serial Device (COM3)” in Device Manager, but TunerStudio set to COM3 does not connect. Could something have been corrupted?

        1. Hi, Ive just tried it starting from scratch and worked perfect. when making your project did you select the STM32 as the controller?
          Controller

          1. Yes, STM32 selected.

When trying to re-upload firmware it appears there is a DFU error state of some sort on the existing firmware when it starts. Firmware Loader output below (minus the progress bars):

“STM32 BOOTLOADER” shows up on device manager. Driver is libwdi 6.1.7600.16385.

When removing the jumper, “BLACK_F407VE CDC in FS Mode (COM3)” is listed in device manager under ports, with driver usbser (v1.0.0.0) installed from Zadig.

          2. My DFU mode driver is WinUSB(v6.1.7600.16385) maybe you need to look through the other drives in Zadig to fund WinUSB. Id just say its called different. Are you using windows 11?
try this uploader, it works in a browser, it will silent download to your downloads directory, it won’t download a ini file, but you already have that.
give it a go and let me know.

  2. Same results with using the browser uploader.

Confirmed DFU driver shows as the WinUSB one when checking/installing through Zadig. Re-installed same drivers just to be safe.
